My Wig Journey: Finding Confidence & Community

How It All Started

“Once I started wearing wigs, I finally felt like myself again.”

Hi, I’m Frannie — and what you’re seeing here is my real head of hair. For a long time, I ran a YouTube channel teaching crochet. If you’ve ever filmed videos before, you know the editing process means staring at yourself on screen… and for me, that’s when I started noticing something I couldn’t ignore. My hair was getting thinner and thinner.

No matter what I tried — hairspray, styling tricks, you name it — I just couldn’t get it to look the way I wanted. I felt frustrated, stuck, and honestly, not very confident.

But deep down, I’d always wanted to try different hairstyles and looks. So one day, I decided: why not experiment with wigs?

The Turning Point

When I began wearing wigs, everything changed. Suddenly, I had access to styles I could never achieve with my natural hair. It was fun, exciting, and most importantly — I started to feel good about myself again.

At the same time, I decided to open up to my YouTube audience about what I was going through. I shared that my hair was thinning and that I was trying wigs for the first time — not as an expert, but as someone learning in real time. And that’s when something beautiful happened.

In the comments of my videos, women began reaching out:

  • “Oh my gosh, I have the same problem.”

  • “I have alopecia.”

  • “I’ve been through chemotherapy.”

I realized it wasn’t just me. There were so many women walking this same road — feeling lost, wanting options, craving confidence.

That’s when I thought: maybe I can do more than just share my journey. Maybe I can help.

Building Something Bigger

I started reviewing wigs, and slowly, a community formed. We created a private Facebook group, built a website, and began offering free consultations — all to give women a safe, supportive space to explore wigs without judgment.

It wasn’t perfect at first. Believe me, there was a lot of trial and error (and plenty of error 😅). But each mistake taught me something valuable. And every message from another woman saying, “You helped me feel confident again,” fueled me to keep going.

Why Frannie’s Hair Is Different

Today, Frannie’s Hair is about more than just wigs. It’s about helping women see what’s possible — whether you need a wig because of hair loss, or you just want to try a new look for fun. Wigs can be accessories, confidence boosters, and a way to express yourself.

What makes us unique is that Frannie’s Hair is a family-run business. My family and I put our hearts and souls into everything we do, because we know this is personal. We don’t just sell wigs — we welcome you into our family. We want every woman who visits us to feel the love, the connection, and the support that comes from people who truly care.

That’s why we carry wigs for everybody:

  • All different styles

  • All different ethnicities

  • Truly, anyone who wants to feel good about their hair

Because I know what it’s like to feel lost, and I never want another woman to go through this alone.

So whether you’re starting your wig journey or just curious to try something new, we’ll walk with you every step of the way. After all, this isn’t just about hair — it’s about confidence, family, community, and celebrating who you are.
